SMALL TYPECHECKER FIXES

[The real commit preceded this, but had the stupid message "RULES-NOTES"
 because I used "cvs commit -m" instead of "cvs commit -F"]

1. Allow type synonyms with kind other than '*'

2. Check that the default methods declared in a class decl are
   from that class decl
